ABOUT Lawyers Autism Awareness Foundation

Luis Viera and Jorge Santeiro knew they had a number of things in common, but the main thing they shared was their love and dedication to their sons, who are both on the autism spectrum, and their desire to give back to the community and to assist other families living with autism on a daily basis. They recognized the need to have more sensory friendly events available to children on the autism spectrum and the idea of the Sensory Friendly Holidays was born. They also recognized that not all families can afford or have access to the many public and private therapy options that are available to families of children with autism. Sandy Santeiro, wife of Jorge Santeiro, advocates for children diagnosed with Autism. She along with Kelley Prince, President and Founder of Behavioral Consulting of Tampa Bay (an expert in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis) they formed the Lawyer’s Autism Awareness Foundation. The overwhelmingly positive response and offers of assistance that they have received from the local community has been both gratifying and encouraging.  The LAAF organization hopes to grow and expand their Sensory Friendly Holiday events in the coming years and be able to assist many families in the process.
