A few years ago, the husband and I discovered how to make kettlecorn at home. Inspired by our obsession with the kettlecorn from the Saturday Morning Market downtown, we set out to create this salty-sweet snack in our own kitchen.
I personally love kettlecorn because even though it contains sugar, it's still pretty low in calories, and makes for the perfect food when you want to snack on a lot of something. If you’ve never made popcorn (besides the in the bag, microwave kind), you will be surprised at how easy it is!

And once you get used to making popcorn on the stove top, you can get creative with ingredients. From kettlecorn to white chocolate cinnamon, to maple bacon…homemade popcorn makes for the perfect holiday treat to give to family and friends.
So start with making this kettlecorn today. You’ll be surprised how fun and easy it is….AND you just might eat the whole bowl .
Homemade Kettlecorn
Ingredients
1/2 cup popcorn
1/4 cup olive oil
3 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, pour in the popcorn, sprinkle sugar on top and cover. Grab two potholders. After a few minutes, the popcorn will start to pop, lift up the pot and shake, return to heat, and repeat this process until the popcorn is popped. Transfer to a bowl and salt to taste while mixing. Let cool for a few minutes and enjoy!.
