Going Places

St. Petersburg, Fla. – Residents of The Fountains at Boca Ciega Bay in St. Petersburg are always on the go. A team of community life associates sees to that.

“Connecting people with new experiences and thrilling adventures is just one of the ways we help our residents thrive,” said Michele Lynch, community life director.

The St. Petersburg rental retirement community, located at 1255 Pasadena Avenue South, serves more than 400 residents of two bayfront towers. Classes, parties, entertainment and excursions are an important part of the lifestyle, along with housekeeping, meals, transportation and maintenance. Assisted living and memory care services are also available.

April excursions have included a return visit to the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary, where residents caught up with their monkey friends and held young alligators, followed by a day at Quantum Leap Farm in Odessa, where they enjoyed a fine picnic, some sun and even got to feed carrots to Idaho.

Next on their travel docket is a two-day overnight trip to St. Augustine, where they will visit Flagler College, the amazing Castillo de San Marcos fort and the Fountain of Youth.

It’s possible that Lynch and the residents of The Fountains at Boca Ciega Bay may have already discovered the Fountain of Youth. Their secret: getting out and about often.

“Experiencing your surroundings is easy to do when you have the right support ,” Lynch said.  “We take care of the planning and transportation and we accompany our residents on these trips. We love to see people light up, laugh and have fun out there. That’s what it’s all about.”
