Mayor Foster's subliminal anti-gay message in PAC TV attack ad

It has been well documented that Mayor Foster likes to keep his distance from the Gay Pride Parade, often referring it to being “too adult themed”.  And for his first 3 years in office, Foster refused to sign a proclamation recognizing Gay Pride week.  Only in an election would Foster flip flop and sign his own proclamation just days after not signing the Council proclamation.

It is not uncommon for attack ads to try and feature ones opponent in an unflattering light, the nature of the game.  But to start a TV ad with a picture of your opponent marching in the Gay Pride Parade wreaks of intolerance, divisiveness, and hatred.  Let’s not fool ourselves- political ads are meticulously crafted and this was an intentional act to provoke those who frown upon the LGBT community.

Shame on you Mayor Foster, for taking a cheap shot at your opponent’s participation in a major city event that you would rather snub.
