5 Things to Know: April 2

Championship Round of the Business Brackets, Police Re-Accreditation, America's Got Talent, Newsletters and Patch Business Directory are five things you need to know today.

1. We are ! At the beginning of March we started with 64 businesses and now only  and  remain in our business bracket challenge to find the business with the best customer service in St. Petersburg. 

2. As part of an on-site assessment for, the public is invited to offer comments at a public information session on Monday April 2, 6 p.m., at City Hall. The Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) sends a team of assessors to conduct a review of the St. Petersburg Police Department. The accreditation program requires agencies to comply with state-of-the-art standards in four basic areas including policy and procedures, administration, operations, and support services.

3. On Tuesday the hit NBC reality show, "America's Got Talent" is coming to St. Pete to look for contestant for its next season. Watch the competition live as "America's Got Talent" tapes at the Mahaffey for two days -- along with host Nick Cannon and celebrity judges Howard Stern, Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne. Tickets to the tapping are free and can be found online
