1. Yesterday, more than 8,000 runners braved the unusually cool Florida temperatures to compete in the . The early-morning run was capped by a performance by rapper Flo Rida. Two of Patch's own, Gulfport Patch editor Cherlene Willis and Dunedin Patch editor Katie Dolac, took part in the race. Go Patch!

2. On Sunday a local church was in shock after at Grace Connection Church. Three men were inspecting a gun inside a church closet when the gun fired. The bullet went through the closet door and struck 20-year-old Hannah Kelley in the head. Kelley was rushed to Bayfront Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
