5 Things to Know in St. Pete: April 30

Operation Medicine Cabinet, Rays in Town, Patch Newsletters, Reverse Trade Show and Feeding America Tampa Bay are five things you need to know today.

1. On Saturday, Operation Medicine Cabinet collected 758.18 Pounds of prescription medications in Pinellas County. The four-hour event was held at 14 locations throughout the county and had the participation of 9 law enforcement agencies in all. The event was held in conjunction with the DEAs National Take Back Day. St. Petersburg Police collected 154 pounds at its locations. 

2. The Tampa Bay Rays are back in town Monday after taking the series against the Texas Rangers over the weekend. At 7:10 p.m. Monday at Tropicana Field, the Rays take on the Seattle Mariners. Tickets start at $12.

4. Owners and operators of local and small businesses are invited to a Reverse Trade Show on Friday, May 4 to learn how to do business with the city and what opportunities exist. Hosted by the city's Procurement and Supply Management Department, the third annual Reverse Trade Show will be held at the historic Coliseum, 535 Fourth Ave. N. from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

5. Patch is partnering with Feeding America Tampa Bay to help feed the needy in our community. Help us gather 2,000lbs of food. We'll take care of the heavy lifting but we need your help to gather food for hunger families in St. Pete and Tampa Bay.
