5 Things to Know in St. Pete: June 4

1. St. Anthony’s Hospital will host to recruit experienced registered nurses to work in the new patient care tower and the Emergency Center. Applicants will be accepted from noon to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5 in the hospital’s main lobby. The positions to be filled include critical care/telemetry, cardiac cath lab and EC nurses, experienced monitor techs, PCTs and unit secretaries.

2. The St. Petersburg Parks and Recreation opens 19 fresh water and two salt water lakes for the summer season now through Labor Day. Fishing is allowed between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily. A fresh water fishing license is required at all fresh water lakes except for children ages 15 and under or anyone fishing in their resident county and using a pole without a reel.

3. Social Services grant applications are due by Monday, June 25 at 4 p.m. Applications and guidelines are available online at stpete.org/socialservices. A Bidders/Technical Assistance Workshop will be held on Friday, June 1, from 9 to 11 a.m. in Room 100 at St. Petersburg City Hall, 175 Fifth Street N. Organizations should bring the application and guidelines found on the website to the workshop.

5. Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark announced Friday she is  in Pinellas because of inaccurate information provided to the county. Of 36 potential non-citizens on Pinellas' voter rolls, five were found to be legal registered voters.
