Loyal customers have been frequenting the establishment since day one. According to the owner, Erica Allums, visitors will sometimes eat breakfast and lunch at Banyan, all in the same day.
Although I’m native to the ‘Burg, was unchartered territory until recently. I stopped in for lunch and immediately knew that it was the best thing I’d eaten all week!
I’m a sucker for sandwiches, so when I saw “Tofu Steak Sandwich” atop the board of specials, my choice was unopposed. The freshly grilled “steak” was sandwiched between two slices of toasted Cuban bread. Carmelized onions, spring greens and roasted red pepper aioli added a powerful burst of flavor into the mix. On the side came roasted potatoes topped with shredded parmesan cheese.
