Guardian ad Litem Volunteers Needed!

You would be an excellent Guardian ad Litem (GAL) volunteer! GAL volunteers are advocates for abused and abandoned children. In Pinellas & Pasco Counties there are over 2,500 children living in foster care or under court supervision. The welfare system is too overburdened to be sure these children’s needs are being met and many are overlooked! GAL volunteers advocate for these children to insure their medical, educational and social needs are being met, but only 1,180 of the 2,500 children in the system have a GAL volunteer advocate. GAL volunteers make an unbelievable impact on the lives of abused and abandoned children. Anyone who cares about children and has about 5 – 10 hours a month to spare can be that difference. The next GAL volunteer training session begins on March 10 at 9:00. If you are available to help or want to learn more, please call GAL Volunteer Recruiter Kristi Tolmer at 727.647.1858, or visit http://www.guardianadlitem6.org/whatis.php

The steps to become a volunteer are:
1. Attend at Orientation Session - March 6 at 4pm
2. Submit your application - available online at http://www.guardianadlitem6.org/appdisclaimer.php
3. Attend training for four Mondays at 9:00 am: March 10, 2, 31 and April 7.
