Summer Camps in St. Pete

St. Pete offers an array of summer camps each year. Each organization puts its own twist on learning and having fun doing it.

Summer is a time when kids feel free from the pressures of school and parents wish there was no break at all. It can be difficult finding a camp that offers recreation as well as education. We've done some research and have come up with a pretty impressive list of summer camps in the area.

Which one will best fit your child?

  • American Stage Theatre Company

The Teen Summer Institute is being offered at the this summer. Camp starts on June 11 and is broken down into five sessions that reach early August. Professional artists are on hand to deliver one-of-a-kind instruction. The program is open to all levels of performers, from beginners to experienced.   • Great Explorations

Camps at start on June 11 and run through August 17. The summer schedule is broken down into ten, weeklong camps. Age groups range from 5-11 and there is even a pre-school program http://greatexplorations.org/wwww12/pre.php.   •  Morean Arts Center

Give your kids the gift of art education this summer. The is holding programs for kids aged 5-15. Age groups are broken down into three categories and kids will learn the basics through advanced techniques. The goal at the Morean's summer camp is to get the children to connect with their artistic side and possibly decide which medium suits them the best.   • YMCA

  • Loraines Academy Inc.

Children can learn about the world of hair, skin and nails at Loraines Academy this summer. The school is offering two, weeklong courses for ages 8-13. From hair and makeup to nails and massage, the kids will get the works with this one. The camp is just $125 per week and it includes all materials and a camp t-shirt.
