Polls Suggest It's Time for Crist to Become a Democrat

New polling numbers from Quinnipiac indicate that Florida Democrats are ready to embrace Charlie Crist.

It's time, Charlie.

It's time to just rip off the Band-Aid.

It's time to visit the local Supervisor of Elections Office and switch to the Democratic Party.

Like pulling off a Band-Aid, switching to the Democratic Party may sting a bit at first, but you'll find relief soon thereafter.

In fact, two new polls suggest the time is ripe for Crist to make the switch.

New polling numbers from Quinnipiac indicate that while Crist is no longer the universally popular figure he was before lurching to the left, Florida Democrats are ready to embrace him.

“If Charlie Crist is contemplating a political comeback, he is neither in great or terrible shape. Overall voters are split on whether they view him favorably or unfavorably,” pollster Peter Brown said.

Crist's favorability rating is split evenly at 40–40 percent, but, according to Brown, "he would enter a primary with almost four times as many party members seeing him favorably as unfavorably.”

The Quinnipiac numbers come on top of fresh data from Public Policy Polling, which shows that Crist's numbers with Democrats are up from 44-33 percent to 55-22 percent.

Forty-eight percent of voters think he should complete the switch and become a Democrat to 21 percent who think he should not and that sentiment is held among Democrats (61-11 percent) and Republicans (40-33 percent) alike.

What do all of these numbers really mean?

It's time, Charlie. It's time.

Crist is not for Republicans or Democrats. Crist is for Crist. It's time for him to retire.

He's gone from the top... a Republican to an Independent, now an ambulance chaser(Morgan and Morgan)..so in the whole scheme of politics.what could be lower than that?...

I have to agree with Keith and Jeff, Charlie is an opportunist who only cares about getting himself elected to anything. He is not a Republican, he is not a Democrat, heck he isn't even an independent, I would have to say he's a Crist or a socialist that's all and he will only be for what is popular at the time. Florida needs more statesman and less life time politicians.
