13-Year-Old Charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder

Le'Genius Williams, 13, is charged with attempted first-degree murder.

St. Petersburg Police have arrested a 13-year-old male and charged him with attempted first-degree murder for allegedly shooting a 15-year-old male multiple times. 

Responding to a call of a person shot, police arrived at 2584 16th Ave. S Wednesday to find the 15-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. 

Le'Genius Wisdom Williams, 13, is charged with attempted first-degree murder. 

Police said the victim was involved in an argument with three or four juveniles around 9 p.m. Aug. 14 on the 1700 block of 26th Street South when Williams pulled a small caliber handgun form his pocket and shot the victim several times.

The victim, police said, fled to a nearby home to seek help and cal 911. The suspects fled the scene.

According to police, the victim was then taken to Bayfront Medical Center and is currently at All Childrens Hospital in "serious, but stable" condition. 

Williams turned himself into police Friday and was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.
