A St. Petersburg man poured bleach on the knife used to stab Jason Paul and burned the clothes worn by the person charged with his murder in an attempt to conceal the crime, according to Clearwater Police.

Devin Monte Boykins, 23, of St. Petersburg, was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact in a first-degree murder, a felony, Rob Shaw, Clearwater Police spokesman, said in a release.

Paul was riding his bike to his home on Franklin Street from work when Mychal King stopped and stabbed him, leaving his lifeless body near the 100 block of South Glenwood Avenue near Crest Lake Park Jan. 6.

King, of Clearwater, already was in Pinellas County Jail on unrelated charges when he was charged Aug. 29 with first degree murder.

Boykins' acts to destroy evidence were confirmed by an independent witness who was not involved in the crime, as well as by King himself during an interview, Shaw said.
