Armed Woman Robs St. Pete Bank – Surveillance Photos Released

St. Petersburg Police are reporting an armed robbery at GROW Financial Bank, 2600 Dr. MLK Street North.

St. Petersburg Police are reporting an armed robbery at GROW Financial Bank, 2600 Dr. MLK Street North.

According to police, a call came in at 11:01 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, that the bank had been robbed. The suspect is reported to have entered the bank and handed a note to the teller demanding cash. A handgun was seen in the suspect's possession, but there were no shots fired and no injury to bank personnel.

Detectives have released photos from a surveillance camera.

The suspect is about 5'5," heavy build, 40-50 years of age, wearing a dark velour outfit, navy blue ball cap and sunglasses. She carried a black fabric messenger bag and possibly is wearing a wig.

Her vehicle is now described as red or maroon, late 1990s model, 4-door Honda
Accord with a moon roof and no tint. The car has what appears to be a red, white and blue sticker on the left rear bumper.

St. Petersburg Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the suspect in this case.  Anyone with information should call the non-emergency number, at 727-893-7780, Text-A-Tip to 727-420-8911 or leave a confidential tip at 727-892-5000.
