A 63-year-old Carnival Paradise passenger was medevaced by the Coast Guard to Fort DeSoto and transferred to awaiting medical personnel and a local hospital.
The captain of the Carnival Paradise contacted Sector St. Petersburg watchstanders at 8:04 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 10, reporting the man was experiencing heart attack symptoms and required medical assistance.
A 45-foot Response boat with a crew from Coast Guard Station Cortez responded to the cruise ship, which was 12 miles west of Tampa.
