CVS Robbery Suspect Arrested

Police arrested 22-year-old Zachary Perrine, 7548 21 St. N., and charged him with armed robbery.

St. Petersburg Police have arrested a robbery suspect who allegedly .

Police arrested 22-year-old Zachary Perrine, 7548 21 St. N., and charged him with armed robbery.

According to police, Perrine was identified in the robbery as the result of forensic evidence found at the crime scene. Detectives without incident arrested him near his home.

After wandering through the store, the suspect approached the clerk at the front counter, produced a handgun and demanded cash from the register.

According to police, after being provided the money, the suspect demanded the drug Oxycodone. The clerk walked back with the suspect to the pharmacy section of the store, where the pharmacist told him that they did not stock the drug and the suspect fled with just the cash.

In addition to the robbery charge, Perrine was found in possession of the drug Xanex and was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, police said.

The gun used in the robbery has not yet been recovered, police said.

At the time of the CVS robbery, Perrine was out on bond regarding a home invasion robbery that took place in August of 2011 and which was investigated the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
