Elderly Man Dies After Heart Attack While Driving

A 65-year-old South Pasadena man died after suffering a heart attack while driving.

Lloyd Perkins, 65, of South Pasadena, was driving south on 66th St. S. when authorities say he had a heart attack. It happened around 6:30 Friday night.

According to St. Petersburg Police, Perkins lost control of his Ford pickup truck, ran over the center median and hit the left side of a Lexus heading north of Pasadena Ave N.

Lloyd Perkins was taken to Palms of Pasadena Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Perkins' wife, Jeanene, was in the truck and was not injured.

The driver of the Lexus, Vytautas Prialgaoskas, 81, of St. Pete Beach, was taken to Palms of Pasadena Hospital for minor injuries and was released. Prialgaoskas' wife, Stefa, was a passenger in the Lexus and was not injured.
