Family 'Deeply Concerned' Over Runaway St. Pete Teen

St. Petersburg Police announced Friday they were looking for Dinhngo Nguyen, 16, who has a medical condition and may be in danger.

The family of a missing St. Petersburg teen who ran away from home remains "deeply concerned regarding his safety," authorities said Monday.

St. Petersburg Police announced Friday they were looking for Dinhngo Nguyen, 16, who has a medical condition and may be in danger.

Nguyen was last seen by his father at their 22nd Avenue North home around 11 p.m. last Tuesday night and was reported missing the next morning, police said.

The boy does not have a car and is believed to be traveling on foot, possibly in either north St. Petersburg or Clearwater, police said.

Nguyen is considered endangered because he suffers from physical and mental conditions that require him to take prescription medications. He hasn’t taken those medications since he left home.

The teen has run away from home twice before, police said, but not since before 2011. On one occasion he was found near a bridge in Clearwater; the second time, he was located at a St. Petersburg CVS.

He is described as an Asian male, 5-foot-5 and 140 pounds with a black buzz cut and glasses. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and grey shorts and carrying a clear-colored backpack. He is also described as very introverted.
