Florida State Troopers Target Aggressive Drivers

The highway patrol is stepping up enforcement efforts in Pinellas County through Labor Day.

ST. PETERSBURG – Getting pulled over for a traffic violation is the last thing folks want on this long holiday weekend. Not only are the tickets costly, but car insurance costs spike.

The Florida Highway Patrol is out in force throughout Pinellas County for the three-day Labor Day weekend, targeting aggressive drivers and motorists not wearing their setabelts.

The effort is part of a campaign to reduece the number of highway accidents that cause property damage, injury and death. A similar focus for two days in August resulted in 120 drivers cited in Pinellas County alone.
