Detectives believe Vickers was a passenger in a car with several other individuals. They had stopped in the 500 block of 26th Avenue South when one of the occupants of the car Vickers was in became involved in argument with another individual standing outside the vehicle, police say.

That subject produced a gun and fired into the car striking Vickers. Vickers
was then driven to the hospital and dropped off by the other occupants who
drove off before police arrived, according to Police spokesperson Mike Puetz.
