Homeless St. Petersburg Woman Dead After Being Run Over In Parking Lot, Police Say

Henrietta Dickson is dead after a car rolled over her.

A woman is dead after a car ran over her in a parking space where she passed out, police say.

St. Petersburg Police Department say Henrietta Dickson, 55, was unconscious when a car rolled onto her late Tuesday night at the Palm Garden Condos off of State Road 94.

Dickson, who had no listed fixed address, was sleeping between two parking spaces when police say a woman driving a 2002 Daewoo Legauza parked in her assigned condo parking space with her front tires pinning Dickson between the car stop and the vehicle.

According to police, the woman driving the vehicle felt an impact when parking. She exited her car, found a large tote bag underneath the car's left tire, and attributed the impact to the item before entering her residence.

Wednesday morning, a passersby saw Dickson’s body beneath the vehicle and notified St. Petersburg Police, who pronounced her dead at the scene.

Neighbors of the driver say killing someone seems out of her character.

“She seems like a nice person,” neighbor Herbert Rivera told Bay News 9. “If she realized she would have hit something, she would have said something.”

The driver did not have a criminal record and was not charged in the incident.
