Man Rescued from St. Petersburg Creek

The 53-year-old man seemed confused and disoriented when St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue pulled him from the creek, which is in the west part of the city.

ST. PETERSBURG – A disoriented man was pulled from Bear Creek Tuesday morning by St. Petersburg Fire & Rescue.

The unidentified 53-year-old man was in stable condition and transported to Palms of Pasadena Hospital.

According to fire and rescue officials, a call came in about 7:14 a.m. that there was a man in the water behind Pasadena Baptist Church, 635 64th St. South, in west St. Petersburg.

Rescuers found a 53-year-old man in three to four-feet of water. Acting Lt. Sean Thornton called for the Technical Rescue Team to assist.

Members used a special vest, ropes and ladders to bring the man out of the water.
