Police are not sure what caused the 30-year-old driver to swerve off the road Friday afternoon.

A 30-year-old St. Petersburg man died from his injuries today after his motorcycle swerved off the road, clipped a mailbox and then struck a garbage can, according to state police.

Charles Preston Baker was thrown from his 2012 Tao motorcycle on Avalon Avenue, just south of Colfax Street, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. He was not wearing a helmet.

The driver was rushed to Bayfront Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

I love Kahwa coffee and the nice folks that own and run it. They have been great citizens of St.Read More Pete. If you have not tried it, you should do so.
