Pedestrian in Critical Condition After Being Hit by Truck

The pedestrian, police said, was knocked to the ground where he struck his head on the pavement. He was transported to Bayfront Medical Center and is in critical condition.

A pedestrian is in critical condition after being he was hit by a truck while crossing the 400 block of 3rd Avenue South. 

According to St. Petersburg Police, a 2012 Ford truck being driven by a Donald Mosman was southbound on 5th Street South and was stopped for the flashing red light at 3rd Avenue South.

David Dale, 53, was exiting the parking lot located on the south side of 3rd Avenue South and was crossing mid block from the south to the north curb line.

Police said Mosman, 33, made a left hand turn from 5th Street South, turning eastbound in the westbound left turn lane of 3rd Avenue South. Dale had crossed the eastbound lane of 3rd Avenue South and was in the process of crossing the westbound left turn lane of 3rd Avenue South when the Ford truck struck him.

Dale, according to police, was knocked to the ground where he struck his head on the pavement. He was transported to Bayfront Medical Center. Mosman was not injured in the crash.
