Sheriff's Office Investigates St. Pete Shooting

Authorities said they are not releasing the name of the victim or suspect at this time.

A St. Petersburg resident was taken to a local hospital Saturday night after sustaining gunshot wounds to the legs. 

The victim has non-life threatening injures, authorities said. 

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's office, deputies were called to the 5000 block of 44th Avenue North around 8:07 Saturday night on a call for shots fired.

When they arrived they found the victim shot in the legs.  

Deputies have arrested the suspect at the scene, who they say is known to the victim.
