St. Pete Woman Killed Crossing U.S. 19

The St. Pete woman's name has not been released.

A 27-year-old St. Petersburg woman is dead after she was hit while crossing U.S. 19, according to Florida Highway Patrol. 

FHP said the woman's name will be released once next-of-kin are notified. 

Authorities said around 9:45 p.m. Sept. 6, a 1992 For Mustang was southboundon US 19 south of 50th Avenue North when the car struck a pedestrian attempting to walk westbound across the roadway. 

According to the incident report, the woman failed to yield to traffic. 

The front of the Mustang hit the pedestrian, who was transported to Northside Hospital where she died as a result of her injuries sustained in the crash.
