Was Man Hit by 'Celebration' Gunfire?

The 38-year-old victim was struck by a stray bullet on July Fourth.

A 38-year-old St. Petersburg man struck in the neck by a stray bullet on the Fourth of July was likely the victim of "celebration" gunfire, police said.

Robert Anthony Turner was injured on his neck and eyebrow when he was struck by a bullet at about 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 4th, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The bullet seemed to fall from the sky. Police say that some revelers have been known to shoot off guns in the air during holiday fireworks. The practice is illegal.
