First Static Billboard to be Torn Down Today

In a 20-year agreement, Clear Channel will remove 83 billboards that will be replaced by six digital billboards.

In August, City Council approved a new agreement with Clear Channel Outdoor that would remove 83 static billboards throughout St. Petersburg in exchange for being allowed to install six digital billboards in the city.

Today at 12:15 p.m., Mayor Bill Foster will be observing as crews permanently remove the first billboard on the agreement at the intersection of Central Ave. and 11th St.

All of the static billboards on 4th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. St and most in the Grand Central District will be removed.
