Foster, Kriseman to Face Off in November

Incumbent Bill Foster will take on Rick Kriseman in the November general election for St. Petersburg Mayor, according to election results.

Incumbent Bill Foster will face challenger Rick Kriseman in the November general election, according to early election results.

Update: With 92 or 92 precincts reporting, Foster has collected 40.62 percent of the vote with Kriseman collecting 38.89 percent.

Earlier: With 90 of 92 precincts reporting, Foster has collected 40.69 percent of the vote. Rick Kriseman, came in second in Tuesday's primary, with 38.77 percent of the vote, with 90 of 92 precincts reporting. 

Kriseman, 51, served 12 years in office as a council member in St. Petersburg and as a member of the Florida House. He will oppose Foster, also 50, in November.

Foster was elected St. Petersburg Mayor in 2009 after serving 10 years on the city council.  He was originally appointed to a vacant seat in 1998, and reelected for two consecutive terms in 1999 and 2003. 

Kriseman was appointed to a vacant city council seat in 2000, was elected in 2001 and reelected in 2003. In 2006, Kriseman won a seat in the Florida House, where he was reelected in 2008 and 2010. He did not seek reelection in 2012.
