Poll: 'Lens', Kathleen Ford Headed Toward Defeat

Results from StPetePolls latest survey has Mayor Bill Foster and Rick Kriseman advancing to the November ballot.

The "Lens" pier design appears to be heading toward a sound defeat on the Aug. 27 primary, according to the latest survey results from StPetePolls

In the poll, commissioned by Saint Petersblog, the "Lens" only has support from slightly more than a third of poll respondents.

According to the results, 61.4 percent of mail-in voters would cancel the "Lens" contract compared to 51.8 percent of likely voters. More than 10 percent of voters remain undecided on the issue.

In the race for Mayor of St. Petersburg, StPetePolls results show incumbent Bill Foster with 32.9 percent support, Rick Kriseman at 31.6 percent and Kathleen Ford with 22.3 percent support.

One percent of respondents said they would vote for Paul Congemi while 2.8 percent would vote for Anthony Cates.

The top two candidates for mayor, should no one candidate receive more than 50 percent of the vote, will appear on the November ballot.

The scientific survey polled 1,051 people and has a 3 percent margin of error.
