High Rise Apartments Slated for Downtown

The eight-story building will house 348 apartment units – in the mid- to high-price range – in downtown St. Petersburg.

There are plans for a 348-unit apartment complex for 700 First Ave. South in downtown, St. Petersburg.

The Tampa Bay Times is reporting that the development calls for an eight-story building – called 700 First – that will take up an entire block. The rental price is described as in the mid to high range.

The proposal brings to five the number of apartment complexes in some stage of development downtown – for a total of 845 units, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

According to the article:

"Filings with the city indicate 700 First will include a parking structure, courtyard and public art. There will also be about 15,000 square feet of retail space that would likely house a coffee shop or cafe with indoor and outdoor seating."

According to the web site, "I Love the 'Burg," the apartments will be geared toward professionals working at USF St. Pete and at All Children's Hospital.
