USF St. Pete Unveils Student Center

The 81,000-square-foot University Student Center formally opened to the public during a ribbon-cutting Thursday.

Hundreds of people from the university community – including students, staff and leaders – watched as USF St. Petersburg formally unveiled its new University Student Center on Thursday. 

The student center is 81,000 square feet and includes dinning services, meeting spaces, atrium, lobby and a six-story resident hall for 200 students.

  • "Today represents a major milestone for this amazing university. USC is more than just a new building ... It’s the new home of our students. This is the x-factor of our campus." – Mark Lombardi-Nelson, Student Government President
  • "It’s an important day in the history of USF St. Petersburg and a memorable day for our students, faculty and staff as we dedicate this magnificent new student center ... (This is) a fantastic addition to St. Petersburg and its incredible renaissance. Now even more students will be living downtown, energizing this incredible downtown." – Judy Genshaft, USF System President.
  • "The University Student Center was a dream long in the making for all of us at USFSP, but particularly our students, who are justifiably proud of their new home away from home ... We hope all of you will return to our beautiful waterfront campus soon for a meal at the University Student Center or a lecture by some of the country’s best thinkers."– Bill Hogarth, Interim Regional Chancellor, in a USF St. Pete news release.
