5 Things to do in St. Pete This Weekend

Blues Festival, Rocky Horror, Rowdies Home Opener, Cirque Dreams and Saturday Art Walk are just five things to do in St. Pete this weekend.

1. Tampa Bay Blues Festival

Enjoy three days worth of blues in Vinoy Park at the 2012 Tampa Bay Blues Festival. Headliners include Los Lonely Boys, Jimmie Vaughan and Delbert McClinton. 2. Rocky Horror Show

Friday night, the American Stage Theater is hosting its 2012 Gala at Demen's Landing with a presentation of 'Rocky Horror Show'. On Saturday night, at 8 p.m., enjoy this cult classic rock 'n' roll musical of clean-cut sweethearts Brad and Janet and their detour into the debauchery of the mansion of Dr. Frank'n'Furter. On-stage chair seating to interact with the cast is available, as well as general admission lawn seating. 3. Rowdies Home Opener

Saturday night at Al Lang Field professional soccer is back in St. Pete. The Tampa Bay Rowdies will play in their home opener against FC Edmonton. Kick off for the 2012 soccer season is at 7:30 p.m. Explore the new Rowdies Fan Zone, featuring interactive games for all ages. The first 500 fans will receive free Rowdies Roll-A-Banners. 4. Cirque Dreams

On Friday and Saturday, head over to the Mahaffey Theater to see an of Cirque Dream's "Pop Goes the Rock. welcomes “Pop Goes The Rock,” with Cirque Dreams performing variety acts and acrobatic feats to a mash-up of pop and rock hits. Enjoy “daring aerialists, gravity-defying balancers, powerful strongmen and an array of edgy, awe-inspiring acts … accompanied by a hip dance crew, cool singers and a jammin’ band.” The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets start at $39.50. 

5. Saturday Art Walk

The St. Petersburg Downtown Arts Association presents its monthly "Second Saturday Gallery Walk," where participating galleries open their doors for extended hours, some with artists to answer questions about their work.
