AVP St. Pete Finals Canceled Due to Weather

Sunday's finals of the AVP St. Petersburg were canceled because of the severe weather.

As gusty winds and hard rains swept through St. Petersburg Sunday the AVP St. Pete beach volleyball tournament had to be suspended and then canceled. 

According to a news release from organizers, the men’s final between Jake Gibb and Casey Patterson and Nick Lucena and Theodore Brunner will be resumed where it left off, on Thursday, Sept. 26 in Santa Barbara, Calif. 

The women's final was also canceled and will not be rescheduled. AVP said finalists Jen Kessy/April Ross and Emily Day/Summer Ross will divide the prize money evenly and qualification points. 

AVP St. Petersburg has held at the Vinoy Park in downtown St. Petersburg from Sept. 13-15. .
