St. Pete Area Players Among All-Stars in Pinellas-Hillsborough Classic

The best seniors from Pinellas and Hillsborough counties will square off in Wednesday's all-star baseball classic at Tropicana Field.

Four St. Petersburg area high school baseball players will be among those representing Pinellas County in Wednesday's all-star showdown against neighboring Hillsborough County.

Pitcher Hayden Peiker (Northside Christian), infielders Cornelious Copeland (Lakewood) and Max Geller (St. Petersburg Catholic) and outfielder Michael Wiley (Northeast) are on the Pinellas roster for the seventh annual senior all-star game, which begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg. 

Dixie Hollins coach Josh Jackson is also on the Pinellas team's coaching staff.

Gates open at 5 p.m. Admission is a $10 donation for adults, $5 for students, with proceeds going toward the Hillsborough and Pinellas education foundations, the Suncoast News reports.
