St. Pete Hopes to Rally the Rays

The Tampa Bay Rays take on the Boston Red Sox Monday at the Trop. Before the game St. Pete is hosting a rally on Central Avenue.

Despite the Tampa Bay Rays losing the first two games against the Boston Red Sox in the American League Playoffs, St. Petersburg will be celebrating the Rays Monday with a rally on Central Avenue.

According to city officials, the Rays rally is from 3:30 - 6 p.m. Monday on Central Avenue directly in front of Ferg's, 1320 Central Ave.

Fans can celebrate the 2013 season and playoff run with beads, live music, giveaways, photos the Rays mascot Raymond and much more. Food and drinks can be purchased at Ferg's.

Central Avenue will be closed between 13th and 15th street beginning at 2 p.m.

The Rays will start Alex Cobb Monday at the Trop after losing the first two games in Boston. Monday's game begins at 6:07 p.m.

No more tickets are available at raysbaseball.com. As of Sunday night, tickets to the game on secondary ticket sites like StubHub are starting at $68. 

Should the Rays win Monday, Game 4 of the American League Divisional Series between the Rays and Red Sox would be at the Trop on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Game time for Game 4 is tentatively set for 8:37 p.m.
