Saturday's tenth annual gay pride festival in downtown St. Petersburg drew thousands of supporters, from Macy's to LocalShops1.

It was a brutally hot day in St. Petersburg on Saturday, but not even the peaking temperatures could keep the crowds down. Thousands of people poured onto Central Ave. between the blocks of 21st St. and 28th St. to celebrate

An entertainment packed parade made its way from Georgie's Alibi to the end of the route on Central Avenue. Beads, candy and fans were thrown to onlookers. Families cheered from the sideline while others danced in celebration.

2012 marked St. Pete Pride's tenth round of success and the numbers in attendance are steadily increasing with each year.
