5 Things to do in St. Pete This Weekend

What are doing this weekend, St. Petersburg?

1. AVP in St. Petersburg

From Sept. 13-15 at the Vinoy Park in downtown St. Petersburg some of the world's top professional beach volleyball players will be competing in the AVP St. Pete Open. Play starts at 9 a.m. all three days. Play ends at 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 7 p.m. on Sunday. There are fireworks planned at 9 p.m. on Friday. For tickets, which start at $10, you can purchase them online

2. Second Saturday Art Walk

Enjoy what St. Petersburg's local art's scene has to offer Saturday during the monthly Second Saturday Art Walk, which is from 5 - 9 p.m. Galleries will be open late throughout St. Pete including in the Grand Central District, Central Arts District and the Warehouse Arts District. 

3. Loretta Lynn at the Mahaffey

Country music legend Loretta Lynn will be performing at the Mahaffey Theater Saturday. The show begins at 8 p.m. The “Honky Tonk Girl” and "Coal Miner's Daughter" singer has won multiple gold records and Grammy awards. Tickets start at $29.50 and can be purchased at TheMahaffey.com

4. Unity Fest 2013

Get your fill of live music at Jannus Live Saturday at Unity Fest 2013. The festival features more than a dozen musical acts including: DJ Headbussa, Cristol, Famous Kid Brick, Heavy Lyrics, Jimi Nu and many more. The show is from 6 - 11 p.m. Tickets start at $10 and can be purchased online at JannusLive.com.

5. Live Theater Old, Old School Style

If you like the idea of getting a lesson in history while taking in a live theatrical performance, stop by the old Tampa Bay Hotel (also known as the University of Tampa’s Henry B.
