"Expect the best" is the motto of Shorecrest, located on 28 acres in northeast Saint Petersburg. The prep school is the oldest independent day school in Florida. Its sprawling campus hosts nearly 1,000 students. Enrollment starts in early childhood classes (age 3) and extends through the 12th grade. The independent college preparatory school offers 24 Advanced Placement classes, in addition to its regular academic course load. The newly rebuilt high school includes a media center, a college center and a closed-circuit TV system. The campus has wireless technology and Smart boards in all classrooms. After-school care is available for the lower grades, as well as after-school supervised study hall for middle-schoolers. Shorecrest Preparatory School welcomes students of all backgrounds.
