Your arguments are silly, your continual posting of pictures is childish, and your constantRead More name-calling is juvenile – why don't you grow up.

I hope you were looking in the mirror when you typed that.

Oh I can hear it now from ole Leslie, it costs more because you wanted more! Give me a break. IRead More never ever voted for the base design and public input at carful lay orchestrated meetings does not a pier make. If we had a mayor and council that first allowed only Florida Architects to compete we would have a true Florida friendly spot. Second if we selected a design that fell within the money limit, then we would be in a better spot. Third, while we argue this issue how else is the city reaching into our pockets to steal that extra nickel? Vote the bastards out!

The best news I heard and read today! Way to go Ms. Margeson, way to go! ------- If the continuousRead More residency criteria poses a problem could a write-in campaign in her name work?

They did the same dumb thing they did on 1st Avenue N...put in high-tops and VERY uncomfortableRead More chairs. I think they are playing the "Chock-Full-of-Nuts" (old NY chain) game: make the seats uncomfortable to improve turnover. Worked for me...I now go to Kahwa as often as I go to SB.

I am voting for Kriseman all the way. This whole country is all about power to the officials and notRead More the people. I do not think Ford really has it in her to do what is best for the people she will be an I told you so .

Good points Peter, I for one would like to be able to drive to my favorite fishing spot. the longRead More distance is simply too far to walk as i am handicapped. It may be some time before the people decide what is to be done. Why not reopen the bait shop and cut our losses?

Time to call the lens a KO. VOTE VOTE VOTE. Save our pier get all out of office and put in new. ItRead More is still up to the people. We have little time .I agree with concerned where are these so called several officials. ? Why is everything so private under Foster administration. The eye rollers need to take a hike off a short pier if you ask me. Sullivan and company should hang up thier gloves move on elsewhere they are not wanted here, They need to worry about losing thier dear Mr foster as mayor because I for one, do not need to meet with elected officials I just need to talk to my neighbors to know the lens has no place in st pete ever. As far as Curran and Danner their heads are far up the lens they are clueless..... New officials new ideas from the voters, The idea to even put any more tax money into this discussion is UNACCEPTABLE! The taxpayers are so overeducated on the lens and we know what we want. shoot We have to pay for it. Danner is already gone Curran is out so thier opinion does not matter anymore good riddance! Voters it is all up to us to defend our great Pier as the soldiers defend our great country.

Thanks DOC, I might tend to think that any candidate that fails to answer or hedges of the answersRead More may just be too busy to fulfill the needs of the office. Straight answers would be a breath of fresh air.

Has Kriseman really said this or is the 'who' in the quote a typo? <...The work that you do willRead More define who we are moving forward," Kriseman added.>

My apology for the typo's.
Jerry Kendall June 13, 2013 at 08:06 pm
Kathleen Ford - really? She can only complain and tear down. She has never had a constructive ideaRead More or attitude. Her presence in city hall would bring new definition to the word dysfunctional. Please, anyone but her.

I took the % of whites that used marijuana in 2010 and multiplied it against the amount of whiteRead More residents in St Pete according to the 2010 census. Did the same for blacks. Mark, I apologize for the misrepresentation. But at the same time you didn't address anything else.Read More All you address was a miss type. With a change of subject "learn to read". That's nice. It's a high school debate tactic, and doesn't change what was said. Which you didn't address, like where is your undeniable fact without any actual facts behind it.

Have crime rates been falling since the 1960s? I believe that's what I'm reading from many pro-gunRead More people, and they're saying this is a result of an armed society. At the same time I read the same pro-gun people talking about out-of-control crime, especially in Manatee County. I live in an armed household; don't think I'm agains the right to own a firearm. Just wondering if someone can address this contradiction.
Michael D. June 18, 2013 at 12:44 pm
Tim, The studies that are taking those statistics into account are not statistically orRead More scientifically viable. Crime per capitia has been falling, especially gun crime in the last 30 years is true. It has been verified by the major organizations in the nation, Bureau of Justice, FBI, etc... The fact that out of control crime is a buzz word that is used a lot on both sides of the issue. The statistics of the issues doesn't support either side. They use it whenever it is fit to their current argument, and as you can see a number of people change their argument accordingly when the it helps them. The number of mass shootings have been statistically the same over the last 30 years. Yes, 2012 has a higher than average year, but not a true statistical jump. People like to point to certain cities with gun legislation, and talk about their crime. The crime especially violent crime rate is still lower than it was 20 years ago in those cities. It also has stayed statistically the same since gun legislation went into place. So the only fact that is true is crime rate has dropped since the 1960s. There is no real reason behind that, because too many factors are apart of it.
