Primary Ballots Mailed to Domestic Voters

Additional mail ballot requests will be fulfilled daily as received.

Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark mailed more than 266,000 ballots to domestic voters today for the Aug. 14 primary elections. On June 29, 2,214 ballots were mailed to absent military and overseas voters. Domestic voters are civilian voters residing within the U.S. and active-duty military voters residing in Pinellas County. Absent military and overseas voters include all active-duty military, their spouses and dependents, currently absent from their voting precincts; and civilians who are U.S. citizens residing outside the United States. Voter Information Cards to be Mailed Out

The County is required to mail new voter information cards to all registered voters as part of the redistricting process, which included redrawing precinct lines to conform to new district boundaries.

Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark began mailing new Voter Information Cards to all 600,000 registered Pinellas County voters on Monday, June 18. According to a news release, this mailing will take place over three weeks, and the last cards will be mailed July 2. Clark is required to mail new voter information cards to all registered voters as part of the redistricting process, which included redrawing precinct lines to conform to new district boundaries.  Some district and precinct numbers have changed, but most polling places remain the same. DOJ to Sue Florida Over Voter Purge

The Department of Justice sent a letter to Florida Monday ordering the state to halt its voter purge or face going to court.

The Department of Justice is planning to sue the state of Florida for refusing to stop its non-citizen voter purge.  U.S. Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez sent a letter Monday to Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner stating that Florida's decision to continue purging its voting rolls would leave the DOJ no choice but to take the Sunshine State to court.   The letter (which is attached as a PDF below the picture) states: ... Florida Denies DOJ Request

The State of Florida said it will continue its voter verification process despite a request from the Department of Justice to halt its plans.

Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner said Florida will ignore the Department of Justice's request to halt its voter verification process.  Chris Cate, a spokesman for Detzner, told the Huffington Post:  “We have an obligation to make sure the voter rolls are accurate and we are going to continue forward and do everything that we can legally do to make sure than ineligible voters cannot vote,” said Chris Cate, a spokesman for Detzner. “We are firmly committed to doing the right thing and preventing ineligible voters from being able to cast a ballot. Pinellas County Halts Voter Verification

The Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections halted the verification process of potential non-citizen voters, after questioning the accuracy of the list provided by the Division of Elections.

Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark announced Friday that she halted processing the list of potential non-citizen voters distributed to all Florida Supervisors of Elections by the Division of Elections.
