Is That Evan Longoria at Taco Bus?

The third baseman for the Tampa Bay Rays was spotted during lunchtime at the St. Petersburg restaurant on Central Avenue.

Evan Longoria fielded some tacos to go for the Tampa Bay Rays team Tuesday, when the third baseman showed up at the Taco Bus on Central Avenue. Longoria, 27, took his place in line behind a small throng of people ordering from the takeout bus window, then waited on his order. A couple of young women asked to have cell phone photos taken with him, and he patiently sat through the buzz that his appearance generated among people having lunch outdoors. When asked what he had ordered, Longoria replied that he was picking up tacos for the team. Rays, Longoria Agree to $100 Million Deal

The Rays third baseman is now under contract to remain in Tampa Bay through 2022.

Rays third baseman Evan Longoria has signed a $100 million contract with the Tampa Bay Rays that will keep him in town through 2022.  The team announced the signing Monday, which is a six-year extension of his current contract. There will also be a team option for 2023. "We drafted Evan in 2006 with the belief that he and the organization would grow with each other and together accomplish great things,” said Rays Principal Owner Stuart Sternberg in a news release. “That is why the Rays and Evan signed a long-term contract in 2008, and it is why we are extending our commitments today.
