Second Person Dies Following Hit-and-Run on Coffee Pot Blvd.
A 71-year-old man has died from his injuries suffered in the Jan. 25 crash. A 67-year-old woman he was walking with died at the scene.
A second person has died from injuries suffered in a hit-and-run accident that happened last month on Coffee Pot Boulevard, St. Petersburg Police said Wednesday. Roger Wurr, 71, died at 6:05 a.m. at Bayfront Medical Center, authorities said in a news release. He and 67-year-old Gloria Mastell were taking a walk along the 1900 block of Coffee Pot Boulevard the evening of Jan. 25 when they were struck by a pickup truck and thrown into the water. Mastell was pronounced dead at the scene. An additional count of DUI manslaughter has been placed on Timothy Michael Deacon, who is accused of driving away from the accident. Toitally heartbreaking. I'm with Todd in saying that the drunk driver should have the full array of charges brought against him. God bless the families of these two individuals who died due to being hit by that drunk erratic driver. Yes folks, alcohol IS a drug and should be monitored as such.   more ›
