The memorial service for Pinellas County Sheriff's Deputy Jason Shoulta will be Thursday in Clearwater.
The Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieriannounced the visitation and service arrangements for Deputy Jason Shoulta. Shoulta died April 27 in an off-duty motorcycle accident in Pasco County. Shoulta had been with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office since March 3, 1999. He was currently assigned to the Patrol Operations Bureau. He has also served as a Bailiff in Court Security and was a member of the SWAT Team, among other assignments, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Before coming to Pinellas County Shoulta served as a police officer in Kentucky and in the Air Force. Pinellas County Deputy Sheriff Jason Shoulta, 43, was killed in a motorcycle accident Friday afternoon in Pasco County.
On Friday evening, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office announced that tragedy had struck its law enforcement agency with the sudden death of Deputy Sheriff Jason Shoulta. Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said Shoulta, 43, was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident in Pasco County Friday afternoon around 12:15. In a message to members of the Sheriff's Office, Gualtieri said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with Jason's family and friends. There is no sense that can be made of such a tragedy and no words that can make this easier on anyone." A Pinellas County Sheriff's deputy rear-ended a car last night in unincorporated St. Petersburg, which has spawned a county investigation.
ST. PETERSBURG - Pinellas County Sheriff's deputy Jason Shoulta was treated and released at a local undisclosed hospital after he rear-ended a car Tuesday night while on duty. Pinellas County Sheriff's Office reports that Shoulta, 43, driving a marked squad car, a 2005 Chevrolet Impala, was traveling west on 54th Ave. North at about 8:20 p.m. when he slammed into the back of a 2006 Honda Odyssey min-van driven by Mark Peer, of the 3700 block of 37th St. North. Peer, 35, had also been traveling west on 54th Ave. North when he came to a stop in order to turn left onto 37th Street. Shoulta could not yield in time. I'm a volunteer at the PCSO and I did a ride a long with Jason in August of 2011. It really showed how much he loved his job. He had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on his face. God bless him and his family.... my thoughts are with you...   more ›
