The Tampa Bay Rays manager tweeted this photo of his meeting Saturday with music legend Kenny Loggins at Tropicana Field.
Old-timers recall the soft-rock duo, Loggins & Messina. Now there's Loggins & Maddon? Kenny Loggins, known for his 1970s and '80s rock classics, was at Tropicana Field on Saturday, kicking off the Rays Summer Concert Series. Manager Joe Maddon tweeted a photo, and he looks, well, a little starstruck as he poses with Loggins. Kenny seems to have scored a free Rays shirt! .

J.A. Happ has been upgraded from fair to good condition after being hit with a line drive in the face during Tuesday night's game against the Rays.
Tuesday night's Tampa Bay Rays game against the Toronto Blue Jays turned scary when a line drive off the bat of Desmond Jennings struck Blue Jays pitcher J.A. Happ in the face in the second inning. Happ fell to the turf at Tropicana Field and held his hands over his face while teammates and trainers rushed to the mound. For more than six minutes, Happ was face down on the turf before team trainers and EMS carted him off the field and to Bayfront Medical Center. Happ was conscious throughout the duration of the incident and briefly waved to the fans while leaving the field. This oddball photo tweeted by Kelly Nash, a Tampa Bay Rays reporter for Sun Sports, was ricocheting around social media Monday. Nash was reporting from Boston's Fenway Park, when she took this "selfie" up in the bleachers. She had no idea a baseball would go whizzing by her head, a near miss. Only later did she look at the phone and notice that she nearly got beaned by a baseball during weekend batting practice, according to AwfulAnnouncing.com. The odds for Nash to take a photo just as a baseball goes sailing by are quite high – and the talk on sports radio and social media. Hundreds of people and their dogs enjoyed Sunday's Bark in the Park at Tropicana Field. Dogs of all shapes and sizes filled the tbt* Party Deck for an afternoon of baseball and fun as the Tampa Bay Rays took on the Oakland Athletics April 21. Sunday's Bark in the Park which debuted at Tropicana Field last season was the first of three planned for this season. All dogs in attendance received their own Rays collar. The party will be held in front of Ferg's, 1320 Central Ave., from noon to 3 p.m. Fans on their way to the game can get pumped with live country-rock music from the Troy Duncan Band or Top 40 hits from Sunburn, along with beads, giveaways, kids' games, and sports merchandise for sale.
