E.A.T. St. Pete: Art, Food & Wine Festival Announced

The inaugural culinary arts festival will take place Nov. 15-17.

World renowned chefs such as Masaharu Morimoto, Duff Goldman, and Scott Conant are bring their culinary talents to St. Petersburg in November for the inaugural E.A.T. St. Pete food, art and wine festival.

The festival, which will take place at a variety of locations, will happen Nov. 15 – 17. Tickets go on sale June. 24.

Details of E.A.T. St. Pete were announced Friday at the Mahaffey Theater by Bill Edwards, HSN marketing officer Bill Brand, director of Visit St. Pete Clearwater DT Minich and Mayor Bill Foster.

“It’s been an exciting year of planning and getting this thing off the ground,” Minich said. “ This area is known for world-class beaches, world-class art (and) with this here, we’ll be known as a world-class culinary destination.”

“This festival will bring even more attention to this great city,” Brand said.

Other chefs appearing will be Donatella Arpaia, Todd English, Ming Tsai and Ingrid Hoffmann, with more to be announced.

Conant, who was on hand at Friday’s press conference for E.A.T. St. Pete, said this festival would help dispel any lingering questions about Gulf seafood following the disastrous BP oil spill in 2010.

Previously a chef in New Orleans, Conant said, “The Gulf seafood is such an important part of what I do.”

A portion of the proceeds from E.A.T. St. Pete will go toward Florida ProStart, which is a program designed to help students interested in the restaurant and food service industry.

“We’re looking forward to showcasing the many offerings of our community to the world with the inaugural E.A.T St. Pete festival,” Edwards said in a news release. “We have enlisted many great partners and culinary starts to gather for this one-of-a-kind experience.”

Participating venues, local chefs and a schedule of events for the inaugural E.A.T. St. Pete will be announced prior to the June 24 on-sale date.
