Downtown Bar Manager Charged with Battery

Blake Ambrester was charged with aggravated battery after police say a man he kicked out of the bar suffered severe injuries and ended up in a coma.

A bar manager for the Suite Six Club in downtown St. Pete has been charged with aggravated battery after a man he was removing from the club suffered severe injuries.

The police report said 39-year-old Jeremy Fisher sustained facial fractures and an injury to his neck that will require surgery. Fisher is in a coma at Bayfront Medical Hospital and his condition is serious, but non-life threatening.

St. Petersburg Police say Blake Ambrester, 24, was removing Fisher from Suite Six Club, 265 Central Ave., after a female bartender told him she felt threatened by Fisher.

According to the police report, Ambrester asked Fisher to leave but Fisher refused and became physically resistant.

Ambrester, police said, then placed Fisher in a choke hold and escorted him outside.

As Fisher was being taken out of the bar he passed out, and Ambrester let go of him. Police said that is when Fisher fell face first onto the sidewalk and sustained injuries to his head and neck.

After Ambrester noticed Fisher was injured, he then flagged down a passing
police officer for assistance.

Ambrester has been charged with aggravated battery and released from jail on a $10,000 bond.
