Sunday was a great day for a charity motorcycle ride. This is the fourth year for Bubba's Bikes for Badges the event raises funds for the Bubba the Love Sponge Foundation that serves as a community awareness and donations vehicle that supports worthy causes and victims.
I have ridden in several of the events and this years was great as usual.
The event began at Jims Harley Davidson on 54th Avenue in St. Pete, and the ride goes out to Park Street and winds its way back to the dealership for lunch and a big party.

This year the event was dedicated to Officer Arnulfo Crispin of the Lakeland Police Department. Officer Crispin, just 18 months on the force, was killed after responding to a suspicious person call. His family was there for the event, as was the Lakeland Police Chief, Lisa Womac.
Most of the area major law enforcement agencies were represented, noticeably absent was any representation from the St. Petersburg Police Department command staff.

Mayor Bill Foster represented the city. Foster seems comfortable at these events and he genuinely appreciates all that Bubba's Foundation does.
Politics was in full bloom as current sheriff and Candidate Bob Gualtieri was on site for most of the festivities.
