Jim Kennedy Time to Go

You undecided voters hold the key and Jim Kennedy brings no value to a new and energized administration.

The latest polling shows Council member Jim Kennedy with a big lead over challenger Lorraine Margeson, but there are almost 20% of the polled voters undecided.

In his 6 years on City Council, Kennedy has been lackluster to say the most.

You can get a feel for the difference between the two candidates by checking my Post District 2 The Candidates Answer your questions. Well, at least one of them did. Loraine Margeson has responded to every question you asked.

Jim Kennedy chooses not to respond. In fact that is Kennedy's total approach. All he wants is your vote so he can go back to City Council and do whatever he pleases.

A bedfellow of the Chamber of Commerce and downtown business interests, Kennedy really doesn't care what you think about the Pier, the Rays, how your tax money is spent; and if you are part of a neighborhood group you essentially have the plague.

Oh, and if you happen to live on the South side you can forget any serious support from Jim Kennedy. Just ask Wengay Newton.

If you doubt any of this, engage Kennedy in a conversation and then start talking about what the people want and watch his eyes glaze over. He really doesn't care what you think.

A Bill Foster follower, Kennedy can say more about less than any of his fellow council members. Don't be mislead by all of Kennedy's rambling about transportation. I suspect the last place you will bump into Mr. Kennedy is on a PSTA bus. It just makes good campaign rhetoric.

Kennedy makes much of his experience, but his opponent, Loraine Margeson,  has more grass roots time actually working with people and neighborhoods engaging them to discover their needs than Kennedy does on City Council.

Margeson is a quick study, has a fast mind, a big heart and a lot of common sense. All qualities Mr. Kennedy is woefully short on.

You undecided voters hold the key. It's time to vote and Kennedy brings no value to a new and energized administration.

If you really want to give St. Pete's next Mayor, Rick Kriseman a good start, give him a city council without Jim Kennedy.  Everyone will be better off.
